New Zealand Tour - off to a flying start

Our first stop on the tour of New Zealand has been a huge success. We never imagined, when we first had the idea for this project in 2013, that we would be sending it across the world.

The 600 Stitchers that worked on it here in Walton on Thames, in the south of England were moved by the stories of the nurses and the soldiers (all 27000 of them!) who passed through the wards here, and were proud to have had the chance to commemorate their lives.

The Tapestry has moved thousands of visitors over here in Walton who knew little of these stories before we started to uncover them.

More panels are being stitched in New Zealand as more stories come to light.
